New Website, defunct cameras, et cetera

For Christmas, I received my first sewing machine. And what, of course, does that mean? Hours of stooping over it and sewing line after line, making lovely crafts for the masses. I've recently been quite involved in making purses from cereal boxes and will drop off four today. Their details are as follows:

  • Frosted Flakes purse: With vinyl coating to protect from weathering, it has matching blue handles made from neckties and tiger-printed felt as its inner lining to match its mascot, Tony the Tiger, who is featured on the front.
  • Berry Lucky Charms purse: With vinyl coating to protect from weathering, it has dark blue handles made from neckties and heart-printed felt as its inner lining, which matches the color scheme: purple, pink, and blue.
  • Trix purse: With vinyl coating to protect from weathering, it has striped red handles made from neckties and red polka-dotted fabric as its inner lining. There's even a game of Trix Pinball on the back!
  • Lucky Charms woven purse: This was the first purse I made, so it's quite different from the aforementioned purses. It has, of course, vinyl coating to protect from weathering, but is woven together through stylish eyelets with black lanyard. The handle is made from black satin ribbon and red felt is comfortably sewn inside.
$30 each.

I know a picture is worth a thousand words, but I've been having camera issues lately. One has an internal card-reading error, while the "replacement" that I bought takes shots like a webcam. Needless to say, I can't really represent these products very well outside of text.

The camera issue has, in turn, stunted the launch of my new Crafts Of Liz website, which has actually been done for the past couple of weeks. It's a design I'm quite proud of with a PHP-based shopping cart (Why PHP? It's part of my job, it's versatile, and I'm quite comfortable with it). I will have a portion of items available for purchase online, but you can also check out the latest additions to the shelves of Satchel's. With pictures-- that's the part I'm waiting on.

I can, however, tell you about some upcoming projects I will be offering, such as zippered duct tape bags with much more style and function to offer than before, Mentos wallets, soda can accessories in general, bottle cap earrings, purses made of nearly ancient thrift store maps, and tetris necklaces.

Some previews:
(I have a MacBook, after all)

In any case, please check back here next week-- let's say Wednesday?
I will release the URL at this time.

I just bough the Berry Lucky Charm purse today! I completely fell in love with it and I had to buy it that instant. I love knowing that it is hand made and I love the color scheme! Thank you so much for making this adorable bag. It's really awesome!
